"Arrive On Time for Your Job Interview"
Written by Kathy Marshall, Professional Resume Writer
Nothing shouts more indifference to an employer than arriving late for an interview. First, it t shows no respect for the interviewer’s time. Also, it sends the message that you might show up late for work every day, you’ll show disregard for work deadlines, or maybe, you are not really interested in the job?
So what if you are going to be unavoidably late: the car broke down or you had a family emergency. Phone the employer and let them know that you had an emergency (not your curling iron broke!) and that you will either be arriving late or can set-up a new date and time. Be polite. Make sure your message is getting to the person who plans on interviewing you. Be very accommodating to their schedule, this is no time to be ridged about when you can meet.
Not only will you put a good foot forward with an employer by arriving on time – actually a few minutes early – you will be “showing them” what kind of great and thoughtful employee they will be hiring.
