"Check Your Resume - Watch That Email Address!"
Written by Kathy Marshall, Professional Resume Writer
Just like you need to separate work from fun on the job, you may need to take a look at the email address you are using in your job search. What message do you want it to convey on your resume? Are you sure your email address is sending the right one?
Think about it. If you were a single female or male employer, would you want to hire the competition, male or female, which used a provocative email address such as imahottie@provider.net? Does your email address send the wrong message to an employer about your work ethic; noworkmondays@provider.com? If you have anything other than a straightforward email address, save it for personal use. Create a second email address and use it on your resume, for all follow-ups, job search efforts, and any business matters you do on the web.
Remember, you don’t want your email address to stand out and be a distraction. You want to put forth your best work self. It’s usually pretty easy to set up an alternate email address, and your provider can show you if you have any questions. Remember, 1-on-1-Resumes.com will help you always put your best foot forward.
