Looking for Work is a Full-Time Job
Written by Kathy Marshall, Professional Resume Writer
So it’s Monday morning, and you left your job on Friday. You need work, but you’ve decided to take a few days off… okay… maybe a few days. But you will be crying the blues if you wait too long. Why? It can take a long time to find a job - a job that you really want.
If you don’t have a resume, make one up. Better yet, let 1-on-1-resumes.com help you put together a cover letter, resume, and follow-up thank you letter. Use that resume to circulate among all your friends, family members, and any businesses you know might be hiring.
Develop a plan of attack. Check the Sunday newspaper ads and be ready to respond the next day. Keep track of all of your job search efforts. Make phone calls. Cold call on businesses that might hire someone with your background. Leave a copy of your resume if they are not hiring at the moment. Keep track, and call them back in a week or two.
You need a break to exercise and relax, but don’t carry it to the extreme and put your job search so far on hold, that you are now driven by desperation with no money in the bank, and forced to take the first job offered.
